Avoid unless explicitly requested:
- Tower banners, heraldry, statues or builder iconography;
- glowing Tower runes;
- conventional wizard/mage visuals (Amended D-311 allowed when the staff or wand is a device, §28);
- pristine celestial upper Tower;
- generic black alien Tower material;
- Tower stone cut into perfect swords/armor;
- matching Tower armor sets;
- every Tower item floating;
- every creature being black, spiky, insectoid or xenomorphic;
- every creature requiring bespoke terrain;
- Earth animal + extra horns as the default creature formula;
- every Porter using a weapon;
- Porter as cute merchant/backpacker;
- character sprites changing for every inventory/experience tier;
- architecture becoming a literal Roman ruin, Gothic cathedral or medieval castle;
- arbitrary platforms with no architectural cause;
- overexplaining mysteries.
Amended D-291–D-310 In names, text and lore, also avoid:
- narration that treats magic as real. Magic words are fine as names for technology (D-311, §28); "mana" is not (the resource is Focus);
- fantasy peoples or creatures outside the Tower: trolls, elves, dragons (a figure of speech like Troll-hide is fine);
- a proper name for the Tower ("the White Tower");
- anything that implies the summit has been reached or is known (a "summit alloy");
- "depth" and "deep" for going up (§32);
- a Porter that is an animal: a Porter is always a human under a frame;
- the Tower speaking, knowing names, or showing awareness (§33);
- ancient records that explain anything: a codex is a human journal (§33);
- settlements, shops or staffed posts inside the Tower (§31).
Amended D-308 Human factions may mark their people and goods: seals, colours, brands, tags, uniforms. The bans above apply to the Tower's own iconography and to recruits who have no sponsor.
